The Martial Styles - The Martial Manoeuvres

Back To Basics

~Walker's Style~

Walker is an exceptionally proficient martial artist, roughly comparable to Joesph, whom he has defeated or fought to a draw on many occasions, especially during shorter or off-screen battles, having triumphed roughly twice as many times as the opposite if these are included (times of outside enhancements or enfeeblements discluded), occasionally in seconds when sufficiently upset or similarly motivated, but also had a great disadvantage when the latter was far more focused while Walker was extremely flustered, so it seems to depend on how determined and levelheaded each is at the time. Regardless, Joesph usually manages to win the final round of major climax situation "events" through applying superior strategy, alternately a combination of distractions and cheap shots after a series of constant legitimate defeats.

As a Demon, Walker's fighting style may be considered self-explanatory. No doubt, his anatomy was severely re-constructed from his base "Human" host; resulting in what could seem an 'impossible' outcome. Naturally, the private detective is known to possess superhuman strength, capable of striking a significant sized creature and bringing to its knees. During his time within the Earth Special Forces, he has provided excessive bouts of inHumane potential, targeting Dragons within their own territory. Seemingly 'simply' able to bring any of the victims to the ground through brute strength alone; employing a break to the neck upon impact. Unlike most cast members, Walker seems to be mostly self-taught, with immense natural talent, and relentless hard training as his only mentors.

When staying focused and keeping his emotions in control he proved efficient enough to simultaneously parry, disarm, and effortlessly overwhelm Bo, King, Renki’, and Rahan in around a second, it should be noted though that King was probably the only formidable opponent. To add on with such massive strength, the occult weapon he wields is none other than the legendary Akero Family Sword. While initiating an extensive use of his innate Fire element, the exact limit of his occult power, output, and even strength has not been adequately determined. A balance set between melee and ranged combat, ultimately, his fighting style is focused towards compliment along his temperament; brash, unrefined, focused on a single devastating blow and absolute precision.

Kyokushin Karate: Kyokushin kaikan is a style of stand-up, full contact karate, founded in 1964 by Korean-Japanese karate master, Masutatsu Oyama who was born under the name Choi Young-Eui. Kyokushinkai is Japanese for "the society of the ultimate truth". Kyokushin rooted in a philosophy of self-improvement, discipline and hard training. Its full contact style has had international appeal (practitioners have over the last 40+ years numbered more than 12 million). The Kyokushin system is based on traditional karate like Shotokan and Goju-ryu, but incorporates many elements of combat sports like boxing, Muay Thai and kickboxing in kumite. Many techniques used in Kyokushin Karate are not found in other styles of karate. Technically, Kyokushin is a point and circle style, incorporating a successful blend of the linear techniques of the powerful Shotokan karate and the more circular movements of Goju-ryu with its strong Chinese influence. Shotokan and Goju-ryu were the two styles of karate Oyama studied before creating Kyokushin's style. However, Oyama studied Shotokan for only a couple of years before he switched to Goju-ryu where he got his advanced training under his primary mentor, So Nei Chu. These influences are reflected in Kyokushin where the training and kata for early ranks closely resembles Shotokan but gradually becomes closer to the circular techniques and strategies of Goju-ryu the higher.

Kenpo Karate: The modern history of Kenpo Karate began in the 1940s, when Great Grandmaster James Mitose (1916–1981) started teaching his ancestral Japanese martial art, Kosho-Ryu Kenpo, in Hawaii. Mitose's art, later called Kenpo Jiu-Jitsu, traditionally traces its origin to Shaolin Kung Fu and Bodhidharma. Kenpo Jiu-Jitsu emphasizes punching, striking, kicking, locking, and throwing. Mitose's art was very linear, lacking the circular motions in American Kenpo. William K. S. Chow studied Kenpo under James Mitose, eventually earning a first-degree black belt. He had also studied Chinese Kung Fu from his father. Chow began teaching an art, which he called Kenpo Karate, that blended the circular movements he had learned from his father with the system he had learned from Mitose. Chow experimented and modified his art, adapting it to meet the needs of American students.
